Cyclone Becky

Its quite breezy here at the moment! Cyclone Becky is expected to hit sometime in the next 12 hours so everyone is making preparations (putting storm shutters on etc). Last night the first of the rain hit, all of a sudden rain with such intensity it woke me up! And wind that sounded like jumbo jets above the roof and the most impressive thunder I have ever heard! I feel pretty bomb proof in my big solid concrete block house but am worried for all the temporary housing that lots of people live in. Not cyclone proof! Am hoping it wont do too much damage.

I haven't been posting prayer requests for a while, but they are the same as what they were. That God would continue to use me in this place. That he would continue to strengthen me (when i get sick of ants, and infections and flies...) and that all the glory goes to him. Thankyou so much for any prayers you have sent up alread. It was awesome sitting down with a girl who was having a bad day and being able to talk to her in Bislama and talk things through with her. It felt like I was making progress! And good that she felt she could talk to me also. My mamas literacy group is going well and they keep telling me they like me and im a good teacher which is encouraging, and they keep coming back so thats good!

Have joined the youth group choir here as well which is another cool place to get to know people. They are recording an album as a fundraiser so thats fun. Am learning songs in other languages!
